Utah Travel

In the 1800's, nobody wanted Utah.  It was a desert with harsh scenery.  Nothing but red sandstone hellscapes in the south.  In the north was a huge, unusable body of salt water.  West of the Great Salt Lake were miles and miles of salt flats where nothing would grow.  Utah was just an unfortunate, inconvenient last test for wagon trains on their way to the promised lands of California, Oregon and Washington.  Brigham Young led the Mormons to Utah for those very reasons.  Nobody wanted Utah, nobody wanted to go there so folks would leave them alone.  In the 20th century, people flock to Utah because it is a desert with harsh scenery of red sandstone hellscapes in the south, the huge unusable body of salt water in the north and the miles and miles of salt flats where nothing will grow in the west.  I dunno, maybe people were smarter in the 1800's
