There are ghost towns and ruins all over the west. Most of them date to the 1800's and the mining camps. When the gold played out, the town died. But there are older ruins as well. The Anasazi and other pre-Colombian peoples left ruins and evidence of their passing. Some ghost towns have been commercialized and some are abandoned and succumbing to the ravages of time. This page is dedicated to any and all such sites, wherever they may be that I have come across in my travels.
